2 c Flour
1 ts Soda
1/2 ts Cloves
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Nutmeg
—B—
1/2 c Shortening
1 c Sugar
2 Eggs
—C—
1 c Thick; cold applesauce
—D—
6 oz Chocolate chips*
* but I always put in a whole package of 12 oz. – who wants to skimp on the
chocolate?!
Put “A” above in big bowl. Add “B”.
Beat for 2 minutes. Add “C”.
Mix. Add “D”.
Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes or until done.
This cake is always a hit.
